2024 SAFE Scholarship Program

SAFE Credit Union is proud to announce our 2024 Scholarship Program will grant four (4) $4,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors and community college students who meet the eligibility requirements. 

Application Information:
The application cycle is open from February 14, 2024, through March 31, 2024. Please use the form below to complete the scholarship application. Be sure to:

1. Review the California Consumer Privacy Act Notice at Collection.
2. Fill out your application completely and accurately.
3. Submit your personal statement on the topic: "How will your educational goals help you positively impact your community?”
4. Upload your letter of recommendation and transcript documents.

Eligibility Requirements for Applicants:

• Applicant must be a member of SAFE with a checking or savings account in good standing. a member in good standing has an active account with SAFE and is not in default on any loan obligation to SAFE.
• Must be a graduating high school senior or a current community college student with 60 or fewer credits with a GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Must currently attend a high school or community college in one of the 13 counties in SAFE’s service area: Sacramento, Placer, El Dorado, Yolo, San Joaquin, Contra Costa, Solano, Yuba, Sutter, Butte, Nevada, Alameda, and Amador.

SAFE will accept applications from February 14, 2024, through March 31, 2024, and the scholarship recipients will be notified no later than May 31, 2024. Once chosen, the recipient will be required to email the following to [email protected]: a current photo, a completed photo release form, a W9 and a short written statement (one paragraph) on how the scholarship will impact their financial freedom in their pursuit of higher education.

Amount of Award:
SAFE is awarding four (4) $4,000 scholarships. After SAFE receives the requested information from the recipient, the award will be directly deposited into the applicant's SAFE Credit Union account no later than June 30, 2024.

• Completed applications must be submitted via this form no later than Sunday, March 31, 2024.

4. Letter of recommendation

Completing the Application:
Please submit the completed application, one letter of recommendation written by an individual aware and supportive of your academic and leadership capabilities, a personal statement describing how your educational goals will help you positively impact your community, and a high school transcript (unofficial transcripts will be accepted) via this form.

All applications received are treated in a confidential manner, and the personal information provided will be used only for scholarship consideration purposes.
