FOLSOM, CA — Oct. 5, 2018 — SAFE Credit Union is proud to announce that Assistant Vice President of Community Banking Anne Descalzo was named one of the Sacramento Business Journal’s 2018 40 under 40.
Each year the Sacramento Business Journal highlights 40 exceptional young professionals who are leaders in their fields and in their communities. Descalzo is the third SAFE employee to recently be honored. She joins Chris Harris, CFO, and Rachel Zillner,
VP Community Banking & Membership.
“I am both honored and humbled to be selected by the judging panel to receive recognition as a 40 Under 40 for the Sacramento Business Journal,” Descalzo said.
Descalzo has worked for SAFE since 2005, starting as a part-time teller while attending college. She took advantage of the many training and advancement opportunities
SAFE provides to rise up to her current role as assistant vice president of Community Banking. She supports a diverse and talented team that represents SAFE in the community through engagement and education, providing the resources and training they
need to be successful in their roles.
She volunteers with Metro EDGE, the region’s largest young professional organization and will chair the program in 2019. Additionally, she is a Folsom Chamber board member. “I have a passion for serving the Folsom community, where SAFE is
headquartered,” she said. “I enjoy planning teambuilding activities, where my team can volunteer and complete a project together, while supporting local nonprofits.”
Descalzo shared advice to other young professionals looking to have a positive impact in their communities and in their careers. “Raise your hand, ask for more, find a mentor, know your strengths, values and passions. And seek professional development
resources,” she said. “There are endless opportunities to serve your community and you can do so by giving your time, talent and treasure.”
