Folsom, Calif. – (Oct. 1, 2024) – The nonprofit North State Building Industry Association – that
represents
more than 520 companies in the Sacramento region – named SAFE Credit Union Senior Mortgage Officer Damian Azimi "Mortgage Professional of the Year" during its 48th annual awards gala.
This is the first time the trade association recognized Azimi, who works with new-home builders in the Greater
Sacramento area to provide financing for homebuyers in new communities, with the award. The group named him
a finalist for the award last
year and in 2022.
“It’s a great honor to be recognized by the builder community,” says Azimi, adding it “feels
great to see all of my hard work and dedication to our builder partners and members acknowledged by an organization
that I respect so much.”
Azimi, a longtime resident of Lincoln, joined SAFE in 2017 and has 25 years of experience in
the mortgage and real estate industry.

“Showcasing SAFE Credit Union’s unique partnership with area home builders, Damian’s award is a
testament to his and SAFE’s commitment to the region’s building community,” says SAFE Credit Union
Chief Lending Officer Tiffani
Vargas. “Throughout his career with the credit union, he has exhibited a strong drive not only to
support our members, but to help grow our area’s housing economy as well.”
Azimi says the award is validation of SAFE’s longstanding efforts to facilitate home ownership opportunities
for new and existing members.
In his own work, he says he strives to provide members “with honesty and integrity.” “I am big on
educating buyers and allowing them to make the best decisions for them and their family,” he adds.
Azimi received his award at the association’s Major Achievements in Marketing Excellence Gala held Sept. 21
with emcee KCRA News Channel 3 Anchor Mike Cherry.

with builders and industry involvement were also recognized, according to North State Building Industry
Association Vice President of Member Services Angela Tsukiji.
