Free Mortgage Webinar Set Just in Time for Spring Housing Market

Folsom, Calif. – (Feb. 5, 2025) – With an eye on the spring housing market, SAFE Credit Union will host a free webinar this month for those looking to buy or sell a home during the typically busier real estate season.

SAFE Credit Union Home Loan Consultant Melinda Browning and Placer and El Dorado counties-based GUIDE Real Estate Realtor Stacy Moffat will present “The Journey to Homebuying,” from Noon to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20, available online by visiting: Journey to Homebuying.

“Spring is usually a great time to buy or sell a home because of increased inventory and buyer activity,” says SAFE Credit Union Home Loan Manager Casey Jenkins, who oversees SAFE home loan consultants who work in Placer and Sacramento counties. “Sellers list more homes, creating more options, while buyers are more motivated to move before summer and when the next school year starts.”

Attendees do not need to be members of SAFE to attend the no-pressure webinar – designed by SAFE’s certified financial education team to help homebuyers navigate their individual home and real estate journeys.

The webinar will provide an overview on credit, down payments and interest rates, as well as information about SAFE’s exclusive Home Rewards program. The program offers borrowers and members the opportunity to receive up to 0.5 percent back on the purchase price of a new home.

“Our webinars break everything down in a way that makes it easier to understand. Whether someone’s buying their first home or just wants to be more confident in the process, these sessions help them feel more prepared and less stressed,” says Jenkins, adding they are also intended for those who may not be ready to buy a home yet but are ready to get started.

“Even if someone isn’t ready to buy this spring, it’s a great time to start planning,” he says. “Understanding your credit, budget, and loan options early can set you up for success later in the year.”

The free homebuying webinar is one example of how SAFE Credit Union – a not-for-profit financial institution – passes savings along to members through no-cost financial education, as well as through lower loan interest rates and fees.
